Sarang Cookery is the brain child of Christina whom also established Sarang Vacation Homes for almost 20 years. Christina is a great cook herself and is always hosting cook and dine sessions in her home for her guests and friends. It has also been a dream for Christina to have a cookery school one day and to share her cooking experience and knowledge on Malaysian cuisines.
During her free time, Christina loves travelling to explore and learn new cultures, and not to forget; to indulge in various foods found locally and overseas. Her love and passion for food is shown in her cooking that people around her enjoy very much.
Aside from being a great cook, Christina also indulges in floral arrangements from time to time; a skill she acquired back in the United States many years ago. She has been running her flower business for over twenty years. Now, she arranges flowers occasionally due to her busy schedule.
Malaysian food is a potpourri of dishes that comes from the various ethnic groups living in the country. The Malays, Indians and Chinese form the majority of the population. The remainder consists of the indigenous peoples of East Malaysia, the Orang Asli of Peninsular Malaysia, the Peranakans and Eurasian creole communities. Our food is also heavily influenced by the neighboring Thai and Indonesian cultures.
We offer mainly cuisines from the Peranakan, Malay and Indian cultures. You can also book the café for your private functions. We can seat 60 pax comfortably. Themed parties can be arranged.
Everything cooked from scratch. No msg nor chicken stock used in our cooking.
Sarang Cookery offers cooking lessons on most of the food served in the restaurant.
Since we started operations we have taught many chefs and restaurant owners from around the world.
