Jacklyn Choong is a self-employed Sports Therapist in the Klang Valley and Kuala Lumpur area. Having graduated from University of Malaya in 2008 with a Honours Degree in Bachelors of Sports Science, she has gone on to pursue various academic courses and has earned certificates in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, System Taping Technique, Management of Cervical Muscoskeletal Pain Syndrome, and Level 1 Dry Needling on Acute and Chronic Spinal and Limb Conditions.
She is providing a to-the-door service of diagnosing and then devising a program in conjunction with clients to reach set goals. Whether that be pain management and recovery, or customising training programs for elite athletes, Jackie’s approach is getting clients to first understand how and why their bodies react to external and internal factors. i) Find and Fix - Evaluation and Assessment of pain, Manual Therapy to relieve immediate symptoms, Goal Setting for a recovery timeline, Exercise Prescription and Education of Pain Management to achieve that goal and prevent recurring injuries.
ii) Freeze or Move - Analysis of Movement in specific activities or sports, Full Body Screening, Corrective or preventive exercise prescription to remedy and strengthen.
iii) Health Consultant - Experiments on fitness levels, Custom-crafted fitness programs for individuals including preparation, recovery, strengthening and improving athletic performance.
Her expertise, combined with a keen interest in sport therapy, has led to coverage at the national and international level, boasting an achievement list including covering The Malaysian Tennis Opens (ATP 250, WTA), the Hong Kong cricket team, and even Ballet, with the Singapore Dance Theatre. Golf has also been a big part of the achievement list, having covered events like the Malaysian Ladies Amateur Open as well as Golf Programs (Peak Performance PGM & SDLPGA Junior Development Program). On the personal experience front, Jackie has Judo to thank for getting her into the sporting industry, having represented Kuala Lumpur in SUKMA, then becoming the coach for the KL Ladies Judo team from 2008 to 2013.
