The Most ‘Huat’ Home Styles You Can Use For the Rooster Year

2017 is the year of the Rooster and according to the Travel China Guide, the most ‘huat’ colours for the year are gold, brown, and yellow. Whether you believe in zodiac predictions and fengshui or not, you have to admit that these bright colours could be a great addition to your homes.

Here are some few ideas on how you can incorporate these lucky colours into your homes to usher in the Rooster year (and more prosperity points too):

Go For Gold

Having some gold in your interior decor doesn’t necessarily spell gaudy. Gold not only gives a hint of opulence to the room, it’s an extremely classy way of decorating your space. A golden chandelier may be too elaborate, but a geometrical lamp with gold exterior will make the room look chic.

You can include some gold in your bedrooms in the form of bed sheets with gold linings. You don’t need thick gold stripes on your bed to draw attention as gold is already an eye-catching colour.

Stay Warm With Brown

The kitchen is the best place to use brown. Brown is a woody colour, which will give your kitchen the popular ‘traditional’ look. Brown kitchen cabinets go really well with white walls and tiles, putting a tinge of modernity in your kitchen.

Being an earthy colour, brown lends the room a more sophisticated vibe, making it a suitable shade for your study rooms and workspaces. This will help you focus and maintain a serious attitude when sorting out work-related stuff.

Cheer Up With Yellow

You want your child to wake up happy every morning and go to sleep in a room with a positive vibe. Yellow is the most suitable shade for that. Being a cheerful colour, interior designers are fond of yellow in children’s rooms.

Yellow is also gender neutral, unlike blue and pink. This will be great for expecting parents as a yellow nursery or crib is great for a baby boy and baby girl!

Red is the luckiest colour for all zodiac signs. We love having some red in the living room, especially if you have a spacious hall. A red sofa or some red cushions will really make your space stand out.

Since it’s Chinese New Year, why not get a nice red lantern for the living room as well? You can keep it after the Chinese New Year season and recycle it for next year too.
